I just saw Barbie with my little sister…. and I LOVED IT! I laughed AND cried. It was definitely feminist but it was funny and pro-woman, as opposed to anti man. I mean, sure, there were jokes poking fun at men/patriarchy but the movie was 1000 percent fun. It was so cool to have all these women in the theater laughing at the same jokes because it showed that all of us had had such similar experiences. It was done in a funny way that never felt preachy to me.
Men who didn’t/don’t like it, I get that… cuz, uh, it’s not really FOR men. It’s not against them, it’s just not for them; it’s for women. You know?
It was seriously FUN. If you’re a woman, go see it with another women in your life like a daughter or sister or close friend or whatever. You won’t regret it…
Can’t bring myself to watch the Malcom in The Middle reboot. Wasn’t a bad show by any means, but don’t think I could even watch the old ones again. It wasn’t escapist enough, kinda remember that about Roseanne too.
