@KatTimpf have to say I disagree that income inequality and affording a home is what is making socialism appealing to millennials
The reason I say this, is that a significant, noticeable and influential amount of millennial socialists in the first world come from privileged backgrounds. Which is actually an inherent characteristic of the far-left throughout history.
A first world socialists in 2026 really comes down to two factors
1. Believing it’s morally superior to hate oneself.
2. A sensitivity to peer pressure and shame.
I really do believe that economic conditions really play very little role into why there’s so many more middle class socialists now. It’s more of a multi generational phenomenon of incremental acceptance of socalistic philosophy….which is much easier to instill in rich people who need to distinguish themselves
